Behind Uneek Jetson “King Jetson”

We got the inside scoop on “King Jetson” EP, read on to learn more

Q: How has the reaction to your project been so far?

A: Good so far everyone seems to have their favorite single. This is my debut EP as a solo artist. But the favorites have been Die A Legend, Move, and Royalty

Q: How long did it take to make your project from start to finish, recording-wise?

A: I would say around 3-4 years because some of the songs and beats i have had for awhile.

Q: What kind of ‘sound’, production wise, did you have in your mind, prior to entering the studio?

A: Really i just vibe off of the beat. I like mixing genres. SO really whatever beats i get ahold of that really catch my ear. I plan on showing more of my versatility in different genres with every album.

Q: What kind of input did the producer have during the process?

A: I purchase the beats online mainly. But I’m working with some locals as well just never been in the studio with them(Freshduzit and KEEF). The other producer on the album is from Arkansas(LetThatBoyCook), he is also my engineer. I would love to be in a studio with a producer tho. I have a feeling that would be a really organic process that I could vibe with.

Q: Any favourite songs / lyrical highlights ?

A: Move is personally one of my favorites because of its catchy vibe. But I also like some others like Die A Legend because that song holds meaning to me about the start of building my legacy. And also Royalty has my favorite lyrics with “Dwight Freeney with the blitz/Mike Tyson with the hits”.

Q: Any overall theme of mood that you’re trying to capture with the project?

A: Something to catch people’s ears, something hype. And get stuck in your head.

Q: Does your vision for coming up with music get affected at all by time?

A: Not really, I am still independent. SO i don’t have to have a certain concept of time. But I am working on multiple albums including remixes to them.

Q: Are there any ‘crazy’ behind the scenes stories from these sessions that you can share with us?

A: Honestly it was mainly just me. I own my own studio. so I do a lot of recording and then send it to my engineer. Sometimes I would stay up working super late and wake up in the chair half drunk lol. But I would love to get people in the studio more.

Q: How would you describe the sound of your tape to any potential new fan?

A: Something hype for sure. If you have a system or are looking for that anthem song this is the right EP for you.

Q: Who are your influences and heroes? (music-wise)

A: My influences are all across the board. Just to name a few I’d say Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Kanye West, Jay-Z, Nipsey Hussle, Mac Miller, Lil Wayne, All Time Low, Bring Me The Horizon, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tupac, Biggie, and the list goes on
